Learning at Gilroy Gardens
Gilroy Gardens is more than a theme park... It’s a place where kids can learn and grow! Learn more about all the learning you can do while you visit.
Plan an Educational Visit
Gilroy Gardens offers discounted admission for schools and nonprofits with groups of 15 or more when booked at least 3 days in advance. Call to speak with a park representative and book your visit.
Placed throughout our park are four Green Spots, modeled after old-fashioned packing sheds used for sorting and packing apples. These sheds keep the learning going with eight video vignettes we produced to tell our guests some of the inner workings of Gilroy Gardens.
Enjoy a self-guided park tour after picking up a free tour brochure at our Welcome Center and learn a ton about our park in these categories: Agriculture, Gardens, History & Culture, and Water & Environment.
Monarchs Butterflies...Beautiful to Behold! Visit our Monarch Butterfly Exhibit inside Monarch Garden to learn more about these wonderful creatures and see them in various stages of their life cycle—from egg to butterfly. During our butterfly season, approximately June through November, you may be lucky enough to see some of them released into the greenhouse!
Honey Bees...Delightful to Discover! Bees are some of our environment's best friends! Visit the Honey Bee Hut, near Lakeside Amphitheater, to see our LIVE bee hive. Inside you can learn more about these busy creatures and learn how each bee plays a role in helping our environment grow and thrive.
