Upgrade your visit to include a Green Barn Workshop for just $10 per student.

(Does not include lunch.  Grades k-5 participants only.  No babies or toddlers please.)

These self-guided explorations of everything green at Gilroy Gardens are an educational treasure hunt!  The Green Discovery Days program is appropriate for students in grades K-5.  

Program includes:

  • Sites at the Green Barn and Green Spots located throughout the park
  • Workbooks for eachstudent are provided on arrival
  • Nature Detective Certificate for each student with a discount offer to return on another public operating day.

Schedule:

8:30am - 9:00am

Arrive and pick-up Discovery Workbooks

9:00am - 11:00am Classes tour park at their own pace

11:00am - 5:00pm

The rides open and schools are free to enjoy the park

Green Barn Workshop Upgrade:

Enhance your Green Discovery Day with a Green Barn Lesson Plan for $10 per Student

The Green Barn is where art and science ignite imagination at Gilroy Gardens!  It's the hub of the education programs at the park and includes Nature Exchange, Art Studio and Reading Nook.  These workshops are meant to complement classroom study.  Includes pre and post visit plans and is tied to California's Next Generation Science Standards.  For class sizes up to 50 students.  Limited availability.

Each 2 Hour Green Barn Session begins at 9am and Includes:

  • Introduction to Green Barn and Trading at the Nature Exchange
  • Scientific presentation, investigation and experimentation related to the chosen lesson plan
  • Art Studio activities for students to express and present their ideas
