Natural Sciences Day Expanded for 2010!

Now available for Grades K-2 and Grades 3-5
May 14, 21, 28 & June 4 ··· $15.00 per student

We are pleased to announce the expansion of our Natural Sciences Day Program for our 10th Anniversary 2010 Season. Previously designed only for Grades 3-5, we will now be offering a program for Grades K-2. Plus, we've added three more days to offer the program on four consecutive Fridays!

Natural Sciences Days provide a unique opportunity for school children to experience a “living laboratory” to enhance their learning. The program includes:

• 2 Presentation Stations where local companies and volunteers make grade appropriate theater-style presentations in Life and Earth Sciences
• 2 Investigation Stations where students explore our environment in grade appropriate scavenger hunts to locate natural and man-made adaptations of various plants and trees
• 2 Experimentation Stations where students perform grade appropriate science experiments related to the natural world
• Workbooks for each student provided on arrival (PDF copies available online for teachers’ classroom prep)
• Nature Detective completion certificates for each student with a discount offer to return on a public operating day
• Hot lunch: hot dogs, potato chips, vegetarian spaghetti, fresh cut fruits and soda

Natural Sciences Days are educational days, the park will not open to the general public and restaurants and stores will not be in operation. Select rides will run after the education program concludes.

Click here for the Grades 3-5 workbook. The Grades 3-5 workbook is currently being modified to fit the Grades K-2 California Science standards. It will be available online for teacher's use prior to May 14th.

Natural Sciences Day Schedule:

• 8:30-9am · Registration and Workbook distribution
• 9am-12pm · Students rotate through 6 education stations
• 12-12:30pm · Lunch
• 12:30-2pm · Select rides open just for fun!
• 2pm · Day concludes
