Natural Sciences Day

Gilroy Gardens is proud to present Natural Sciences Day. Under the guidance of educators, community members, local businesses and organizations, this exciting program offers students the opportunity to experience a complete day of learning in multiple disciplines of science. Students participate in activities throughout the day including Plant Labeling, Rock Experiments, the Food Chain, Composting and the Environment. After lunch, Gilroy Gardens will open age appropriate selected rides for the children's enjoyment.

Gilroy Gardens will supply all experiment and activity materials, student workbooks, and teacher’s guides. Docent educators will be on hand to facilitate activities. Natural Sciences Day meets the California Department of Education standards for Grades 3 through 5. Activities and lessons are designed by educators to include elements of Physical Science, Life Science, Earth Science and investigation and experimentation criteria outlined by CDE.

This program is not appropriate for K-2.
