GILROY, CALIF (October 12, 2009) – Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park, a non-profit organization and California’s only horticultural theme park, officially opens its Middle Earth Event on Saturday, October 31, 2009. Starting on Halloween, their fall children’s Treasure Hunt is themed for Middle Earth. Here, kids will enter a world where Hobbits, Wizards and Heroes dwell. Children 12 and under can help their fellow Hobbits find lost treasures and fantastical artifacts in Middle Earth guided by a Park treasure map and riddled clues.

The Sycamore Bridge will be transformed with Middle Earth displays of Hobbits, Dwarves, Elves, Wizards and Orcs from local charities and businesses. Middle Earth is one of the many charming events making Gilroy Gardens a place full of wonders and tons of magical fun all year long.
