GILROY, Calif. – (June 19, 2008) – Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park is giving guests of all ages the opportunity to learn about some of the planet’s most interesting and exotic wildlife during Summer Safari: Rainforest Adventure. This limited engagement takes place daily July 14 through August 17 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Featuring a wide-variety of exotic wildlife, guests witness the grace and beauty of two majestic Bengal tigers, an African spotted leopard, an alligator, boa constrictor and more. Guests will learn about each of the animal’s natural characteristics, their endangered rainforest habitat and throughout the day, meet the trainers who care for the animals on a daily basis.

In addition, our guests have been asking for the return of the Wild Wings Bird Show, and Summer Safari:  Rainforest Adventure is the perfect time to bring it back.”

Wild Wings is a 30-minute, family-friendly show, filled with exotic and entertaining birds. This year’s cast features talking Amazon parrots, brilliantly colored Macaws and an Andean condor as returning favorites along with some new surprises including a Great Horned Owl and an Emu. Performances take place several times daily in the park’s Lakeside Amphitheater.

Summer Safari: Rainforest Adventure takes place in the park’s Special Events Area, located adjacent to the Pinnacle Rock Maze and the Lakeside Amphitheater. Guests are also encouraged to take advantage of the Summer Safari Merchandise Sale. This sidewalk sale happens near the event location daily, and features a variety of items themed to the event.

Front Gate general admission tickets (ages 7 – 64) are only $41.99 and for an even greater value, turn your full-priced general admission ticket into a 2008 LOTSA CARD! Simply purchase a full-priced admission ticket, have your photo ID made and enjoy the rest of the regular 2008 season for free! The LOTSA CARD is only $31.99 for children and seniors (ages 3 – 6 or 65 and older). Guests can also upgrade to a Premium Pass for exclusive perks, such as free parking and merchandise discounts.
