Claudia's Garden
Take a few moments to unwind in the beauty of Claudia's
Garden. Walk beneath the elegant Arch Circus Tree and follow the path
as it draws you into a forest of blue and green trees and shrubs. The
different hues will help you relax as you follow the gently flowing
brook and small cascades that ultimately end in a waterfall dropping
into a large pond.
Conifers and graceful Japanese Maples fill this garden. Look for the Ginkgo biloba trees with their fan-shaped leaves that
turn bright yellow in the fall. This is the oldest species of tree
in the world. Though related to conifers, it has leaves instead of
needles.
The Weeping Atlas Blue Cedar tree, the geometric and free
form topiaries, grafted cedars of blue and green and spectacular
grafted red and green Japanese Maple tree all add their individual
charm to this Garden. Look at the different hues from light to dark
green and blue on the trees. Don't forget to check out the hostas. They grow in deep shade and
there are over 500 hostas in the Park.
For the little ones, Claudia's Carousel is a delight. It's an antique
carousel sized just right for the 1-4 year old crowd. The
carousel was manufactured by William F. Mangels and the horses were
carved by M.C. Illions.
Buy lunch or a snack at one of our restaurants, take it down to
the deck area, and enjoy the beauty and serenity as you eat. Claudia's Garden is also a beautiful location to host your wedding.
